Why I Believe In Living Everywhere At Least Once

When I think about the person who inspires me most, my mind goes straight to my mom. She has always been the bravest, most adventurous person I know. At just 18 years old, she spent a year living alone in London — long before smartphones, GPS, or FaceTime made it easy to stay connected. That kind of independence and courage has always amazed me.

Her love for exploration never stopped there. She went on to become a travel agent and has been to more places than I can count. Every time I bring up a destination I’d love to visit, she almost always replies, “Oh, when I was in that place...” It feels like she’s truly been everywhere. I’ve always admired not only her experiences, but also her fearlessness in carving her own path and going against the norm.

That spirit shaped the way I see the world. My parents once dropped everything to embark on an adventure in America, and years later, I found myself doing the same. Inspired by her example, I decided to follow my dream of moving to Europe and living in Rome. Every day here reminds me of how much I owe to her courage — it made me brave enough to take that leap for myself.

Looking ahead, I hope to follow in her footsteps, not just by traveling but by embracing life in different countries. Next year, I plan to move to London, and I look forward to experiencing life in many places at least once. My mom has shown me that the world is something to be explored, not from afar, but by stepping into it fully — and that’s the kind of life I want to live.
